The most wonderful time of the year

Wärm up from the chill outside with cozy new holiday programs. ‘Tis the season for Hallmark’s latest set of seasonal love stories on Hallmark, including ‘An Alpine Holiday,’ airingThursday, Dec. 4, and ‘Twelve Dates ‘Til Christmas,’ premiering the next day, Friday, Dec. 5. Look for your seasonal favorites to stream on Hallmark+ post-broadcast.
The Hallmark festivities began all the way back in the middle of October, with new and favorite movies and series kicking off the holiday season early. Whether you haul out the decorations at the first sign of wintery weather or wait until Dec. 1, Hallmark has been ready to help set the holiday mood with near-daily premieres of seasonal programming.
The charm of the holiday season is turned up to the max with a destination celebration in a quaint village at the base of a mountain. In ‘An Alpine Holiday,’ once-estranged sisters are brought together by their grandmother’s last wish. Faith (Ashley Williams, ‘The Jim Gaffigan Show’) and Kelly (Laci J Mailey, ‘Chesapeake Shores’) reunite in the frosty French Alps, sent there to recreate the trip of their grandmother’s life: her first vacation with the sisters’ grandfather.
Faith and Kelly repair their relationship while enjoying everything their alpine adventure has to offer. Helping the two experience their trip to the fullest is their handsome guide, Frederic (Julien Marlon Samani, ‘Tiny Beautiful Things’). Frederic and Kelly feel a spark on the mountain, making the voyage even more magical.
Next in the ‘Countdown to Christmas’ lineup is a the first-ever holiday rom-com series from Hallmark, taking viewers across the pond. ‘Arrested Development’ and ‘Parenthood’ actress Mae Whitman stars as Kate in ‘Twelve Dates ‘Til Christmas.’ Kate is successful in her career and surrounded by family and friends, living in the small town of Blexford, England.
Though Kate is busy with her Saville Row textile design business and caring for her father Mac (Nathaniel Parker, ‘The Vineyard’), who is on the mend from a motorbike accident, in her spare time, she feels like she is in a rut. This is where Kate’s best friend, Laura (Lucy Eaton, ‘Staged’), steps in.
Seeing that her friend could use something to shake up her life, Laura signs Kate up for a holiday-themed matchmaking program, The 12 Dates of Christmas. With the help of Laura and their longtime friend Callum (Julian Morris, ‘Little Women’), Kate sets out on dates full of yuletide cheer, only to meet a match—a dashing dater portrayed by Toby Sandeman (‘The Game’).
Complicating this new development is a visit from Kate’s mother. Delilah (Mary McDonnell, ‘The Fall of the House of Usher’), who divorced Mac long ago in favor of a life spent globetrotting, pays a surprise holiday visit to her estranged family. Meanwhile, homebody Mac may have just met someone who gives him a reason to get out of the house in a local widow named Evelyn (Jane Seymour, ‘Harry Wild’).
New episodes of the six-part miniseries air two at a time on Fridays, with the finale of ‘Twelve Dates ‘Til Christmas’ airing Friday, Dec. 19.
That’s not all that Hallmark has to offer this holiday season. Other festive series continue their runs with new weekly episodes through mid-December.The docuseries ‘Christmas at Sea’ airs on Tuesdays and details the experience of Hallmark superfans as they set sail on a Christmas cruise to a tropical destination alongside Hallmark stars such as Jonathan Bennett (‘Season’s Greetings From Cherry Lane,’ 2024) and Sarah Drew (‘Mistletoe Murders’).
Get into the holiday spirit with two Hallmark originals—’An Alpine Holiday,’ airing Thursday, Dec. 4, and the ‘Twelve Dates ‘Til Christmas’ series premiere, airing Friday, Dec. 5 — on Hallmark.
