Man charged after woman was threated with shotgun in Winnipeg apartment

Winnipeg police say a 28-year-old man is facing charges after a woman was allegedly threatened with a gun on Saturday morning.
WPS responded to an apartment along Warde Avenue around 2 a.m. on Nov. 29, after receiving a report that a woman had been threatened.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 24-year-old woman in the lobby of the apartment complex.
Speaking to the woman, officers learned that she had gone to a suite to meet a friend, at which point an argument occurred. During that time, a man who was also in the suite pulled out a shotgun and threatened the woman. She then fled and called police.
Just after 2:30 a.m., police were able to take the man and the woman in the suite into custody. Police note that the woman was later released without charges.
Around 2 p.m. on Saturday, police executed a search warrant at the suite, where they found and seized an unloaded Winchester 12-gauge shotgun.
Since, 28-year-old Brennan David Cochrane has been charged with several firearm-related charges, uttering threats, and failing to comply with conditions of a release order.
