Radiohead postpone Copenhagen gigs due to Thom Yorke’s ‘extreme throat infection’

Radiohead have postponed the first two of their four upcoming gigs in Copenhagen after Thom Yorke contracted an “extreme throat infection”.

The band were set to play the Royal Arena in the Danish capital tonight (December 1) and tomorrow (2), but now are having to reschedule them to December 15 and 16 respectively.

They said in a statement: “We are devastated to have to postpone these two shows at such short notice but Thom has been diagnosed with an extreme throat infection which has made it impossible for him to sing.

“Treatment is underway and we’re hopeful Thom will recover in time to play the final two Copenhagen shows on Dec 4 and 5, and all four Berlin shows, starting on Dec 8.

“We have been so blown away by the audience reactions on these dates and are loving being back on stage again; needless to say, we feel terrible that we have been forced to postpone these shows.”

Reviewing the first of the band’s four gigs in London last month, Rolling Stone UK said: “Of all the questions following this tour around, only one is comprehensively answered tonight: this is without doubt the greatest songbook of the last 30 years, and its power only continues to grow.”
