Summer is here…apparently

It’s the first day of summer.

Time for barbecues, cricket, walks on the beach and long nights outside.

But you wouldn’t know it in Geelong.

We’re facing a cold and wet day today with a top of 16.

But it will warm up by mid week – a top of 29 on Wednesday and 33 on Thursday.

The BOM says rain may hang around.

“For much of the east coast and south the summer forecast does not currently show a clear rainfall signal: there are near-equal chances of above or below average rainfall,” they said in a statement.

“The forecast will evolve over summer, and the seasonal forecast will be updated every week.”

The week is set to end in the low 20s, with Sunday heading for a top of 21.
