Scarlet Witch’s MCU Future & Costume Details Revealed in New Report

Scarlet Witch’s future in the MCU has received an exciting update.
Elizabeth Olsen has played Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch in the MCU since a mid-credits scene featured in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. She’s since appeared and starred in a number of other Marvel projects, including 2015’s Age of Ultron, 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War: 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, 2021’s WandaVision, and 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Wanda technically died at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness; however, there’s been no shortage of online rumors suggesting that she’ll be resurrected in the MCU at some point, with many fans wondering if she’ll show up in Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars.
What is the latest update on Scarlet Witch’s MCU future?
According to scooper James Mack, there will be a “good” and “heroic” version of Wanda who will be featured in Avengers: Doomsday. This Wanda will live in the X-Men’s universe, Earth-10005.
Mack said of this Wanda’s costume, “She’s wearing a tight, long red dress that goes down to her legs, red gloves, and her signature headpiece.”
This is just a rumor and should be treated as such at this time, as official plot details for Avengers: Doomsday remain heavily under wraps at Marvel Studios. If it does turn out to be true, it’s also unclear if this version of Wanda will still be played by Olsen or if someone else will portray the character.
Avengers: Doomsday is being directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers. The movie, which will see Robert Downey Jr. play the villainous Doctor Doom, is now in post-production and is scheduled to be released on December 18, 2026. Avengers: Secret Wars is expected to begin filming in 2026. It currently has a December 17, 2027, release date.
