‘I completely refute that’: Top anti-corruption official denies boss had ‘incentive’ to mislead Senate

A top anti-corruption official has denied his boss had an “incentive for giving misleading evidence” after apologising for providing inaccurate information to the Senate.
National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) chief executive Philip Reed wrote to the Senate on November 25 to clarify earlier evidence he had provided related to NACC commissioner Paul Brereton’s activities as an adviser to the Inspector-General of the Australian Defence Force (IGADF), the independent defence watchdog.
During the earlier evidence, Reed had told the Senate that Brereton’s provision of advice to the IGADF “doesn’t occur during the hours that he works for the commission”.
