Sabres’ Josh Norris to return against Jets

The Buffalo Sabres centre will play his first game since the season opener on Monday when his team hosts the Winnipeg Jets, the team announced.

Norris suffered an upper-body injury in Buffalo’s opener on Oct. 9 against the New York Rangers.

He centred Buffalo’s top line with Tage Thompson and Zach Benson during the morning skate.

Acquired from the Ottawa Senators in a multi-player deal that saw Dylan Cozens go the other way last season, Norris has continued to be injury-prone during his time in Buffalo.

Norris played just three games for the Sabres last season after the trade.

A first-round pick by the San Jose Sharks (19th overall) in 2017, Norris has 91 goals and 67 assists for 158 points in 240 career NHL games.
