New York Giants at New England Patriots NFL Bet Builder tips
New England Patriots -6.5
Quite often Bet Builder wagers are a sensible way of avoiding having to make a tricky decision on the main markets, but sometimes a handicap bet is well worth including and that is the case for Sunday’s game at Gillette Stadium.
A general handicap mark of 7.0 or 7.5 points is reasonable but Bet Builders allow you to nudge the handicap down if you wish for slightly reduced odds and moving below a converted touchdown at 6.5 points makes sense.
The 10-2 Patriots have been operating at a much higher level than the 2-10 Giants this season, as their records suggest and while the Giants are 2-3 at home they are 0-7 on the road.
The Giants have already lost by seven or more points in four away games and there has been more upheaval this week after defensive coordinator Shane Bowen was fired.
Hunter Henry (Patriots) anytime touchdown scorer
Patriots tight ends scoring touchdowns was a tradition throughout the Bill Belichick glory days, when current head coach Mike Vrabel was a linebacker.
Little has changed on that front and tight end Hunter Henry has scored five TDs this year. He can reach the end zone again on Sunday.
Hunter led the team with seven receptions for 115 yards including a 28-yard touchdown against the Bengals last week.
Wan’Dale Robinson (Giants) over 5.5 receptions
Wan’Dale Robinson never had a key role in the Giants offence in his first three seasons with the team but he has come to the fore this season and is one of very few success stories in a season of struggle for the Big Blue.
Robinson leads teams by a wide margin in targets (102), receptions (66) and receiving yards (794) and he has been targeted at least nine times in each of the last four games.
He has hauled in six or more passes in three of his last four outings and put in a huge effort against the Lions when he caught nine passes for 156 yards and a touchdown.
Production is not likely to be that high this week against a tough defence but he should be able to add at least six more receptions.
