More on Jaxson Dart’s Mother

While Brandon, who played college football at the University of Utah, helped spark Jaxson’s interest in football and supported him as he grew up in the sport, Kara has been equally influential, offering both encouragement and constructive criticism.

Brandon recalled one particular moment of her tough love at home, saying, “I just remember walking in the house and [Brandon] at the kitchen table and she’s kind of giving it to him, like, ‘Jax, you had a chance at that point in time to blow that dude up. We don’t take the easy way out.’ And he’s kind of sitting there like, ‘Okay mom, okay, okay.’ ”

Kara’s support extends well beyond cheering from the stands. Whether it’s pregame talks or keeping him grounded away from the spotlight, she has been one of Jaxson’s biggest pillars, something that was on full display during his regular-season debut.

“When I’m walking through the Walk of Champions, I’ll go see her, give her a hug, and she’ll try to hype me up,” Jaxson told GQ about his mom. “But after every little interaction, she always reminds me to slide. That’s her go-to every single time. If she thinks I didn’t hear it when I walk away, she’ll make sure to scream it even louder.”

Her blend of encouragement, guidance, and that little bit of tough love has helped shape Jaxson into the player and person he is today. Fans who saw her reactions throughout the broadcast got a glimpse of the dedication and pride that have fueled his journey to the NFL.

So far in his rookie season for the Giants, Dart has made seven starts and has thrown for 1,417 yards, 10 touchdowns, and three interceptions.
