NBA Fantasy — Salary Cap Edition: Week 7 update

The Celtics’ Jaylen Brown delivered his best fantasy game of the season in Week 6.
The basketball world has been busy. Even with the league-wide pause on Thanksgiving, there was plenty of hoops in the days before and after, keeping fantasy general managers on their toes.
And just as there were plenty of fantasy points to be earned last week, there’s an abundance of opportunities in NBA Fantasy — Salary Cap Edition for the days to come.
Here’s what you need to know entering Week 7:
Last week’s story
The Los Angeles Lakers are flying high. Now at 15-4 on the young season, they sit second in the Western Conference, and have won seven games in a row for the league’s second-longest streak. Their success has even come without LeBron James, who’s made just four appearances.
The LakeShow has often been a two-man show. Luka Dončić (1,038) and Austin Reaves (841) account for 1,879 fantasy points combined, representing 39.4% of Los Angeles’ total production.
Each of the seasoned guards offer big numbers on a nightly basis.
Reaves isn’t an easy addition to your roster at a price of $13.0M, but is more affordable compared to the $18.1M salary of his counterpart. With 121.7 fantasy points per game combined, they make the Lakers the NBA’s only team with two players in the top 15 of the FPPG rankings.
Peak performances
Dončić won the week with his latest standout showing in a line of many. The five-time All-NBA selection racked up 84 fantasy points for the Lakers in Tuesday’s 135-118 defeat of the LA Clippers (5-15). In all, he produced 43 points scored, nine rebounds, 13 assists, one block and one steal to secure his sixth game of 70-plus fantasy points this season. Dončić’s mark of 69.2 FPPG trails only Nikola Jokić for second-best in the league.
Delivering his biggest game yet of 2025-26, Jaylen Brown also stands on the podium. His 79 fantasy points Saturday were a major highlight for the Boston Celtics (11-9) despite a 119-115 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves (12-8). The four-time All-Star accounted for 41 points scored, six rebounds, seven assists, one block and five steals en route to breaking 70 for the first time this campaign. Brown’s 972 total fantasy points (TFP) qualify as 10th-most.
But he wasn’t the only player to have an exceptional Week 6. Jalen Johnson was right alongside him in that regard, putting up 75 fantasy points in a 142-134 overtime triumph for the Atlanta Hawks (13-8) over the Philadelphia 76ers (10-9) on Sunday. The fifth-year forward piled up a season-high 41 points scored to complement 14 rebounds, seven assists, one block and one steal. The effort was his sixth with 60 or more fantasy points and his second straight with 70.
Transaction tips
Collin Gillespie has quietly maintained a high fantasy value in recent weeks. The third-year guard in his second season with the Phoenix Suns (12-9) has accumulated 650 TFP despite a salary of just $5.2M. He’s had 30-plus fantasy points in seven of his last eight games, and cracked 40 on three occasions during that span. Excelling with a larger workload this season, the Villanova product has come a long way since going undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft.
It will be a busy week across the NBA — 22 teams have four games on their schedule. The Miami Heat (13-7) are one of them, with contests coming up against the Clippers on Monday, Dallas Mavericks (6-15) on Wednesday, Orlando Magic (12-8) on Friday and Sacramento Kings (5-16) on Saturday. That provides multiple opportunities for fantasy general managers to capitalize by investing in the Heat.
Miami possesses four players in the top 30 of the fantasy value charts. Pelle Larsson, Davion Mitchell, Dru Smith and Jaime Jaquez Jr. rank seventh, 14th, 17th and 26th, respectively. None of them have double-figure salaries, with Jaquez ($8.8M) and Mitchell ($7.5M) being the most expensive among the bunch. Larsson’s 446 TFP have come on a dime — $4.5M — making his value unique, but picking up any two of these pieces can only help your squad.
