End of an Era: British Airways Retreats to Summer-Only Service in the Region

British Airways will operated its final Dubrovnik flight of the season last weeky, marking the first December in 25 years that the airline has no year-round routes anywhere in the former Yugoslavia, reports EX-YU Aviation
The carrier has shifted both Zagreb and Ljubljana back to summer-only operations for 2026, ending the brief return of winter flights to both capitals. British Airways has also withdrawn from Belgrade, Pristina, and Pula in recent years, with several attempted year-round services — including Podgorica — never materialising.
Even Dubrovnik, which briefly enjoyed winter connections in 2022/23, now sees only a limited seasonal schedule as competitors expand their presence.
The airline’s retreat from the region comes amid wider cuts to its European network, including recently suspended routes to Cologne, Riga, and Stuttgart.
