Principal stabbed at Melbourne school

A man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing a male staff member at Keysborough College in Melbourne’s southeast this afternoon.
9Newsreports the alleged victim was a school principal.
Police swarmed the school around 3pm following reports of a stabbing, with the campus thrown into lockdown shortly after the final bell rang.
Terrified students were ordered to hide under tables as the incident unfolded, with teachers desperately trying to keep their classes safe.
“We hid under the tables and didn’t make a sound for 20 minutes,” one student told the Herald Sun.
”It felt scary … I’m shocked.”
The adult male suspect was arrested at the scene and is currently being interviewed by detectives.
The principal was rushed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and will also be questioned by police once medically cleared.
Investigators are working to establish what led to the alleged attack at the school, located in Melbourne’s southeastern suburbs.
The investigation remains ongoing.
