The City of Hudson is forecasted to experience a snowstorm which is likely to dump 4-8 inches of snow upon us on Tuesday, 12/1/25. Our Department of Public Works would like to remind people of the following:
-importance of alternate side parking for management. Where streets alternate, everyone should be on the even side Monday (tonight 12/1/25) and odd side Tuesday night (12/2/25) and repeat. Crews could be working through all or part of a couple nights.
– no parking signs will be placed in various areas where streets don’t alternate in order to manage snow. Cars may be towed.
– recycling schedule does not change for Wednesday. Please uncover any cans or bins.
– all Warren street sidewalks shall be shoveled and be clear of snow within 12 hours of the end of the storm. All others are within 24 hours of the storm’s end.

Schenectady
Mayor Gary McCarthy encourages residents to be ready for a winter storm due to arrive Tuesday morning and continue throughout the day. Possible snow accumulations of 7 inches or more is possible according to the National Weather Service.
Be cautious of fallen power lines, and branches. If you encounter fallen power lines, please call the emergency contact number at 518-630-0911. Roads may become snow-covered and slippery, especially during peak commuting hours. Allow extra time to clear your vehicle off entirely of snow, reduce speed and increase distance between vehicles in front of you. Drive undistracted and use caution as you travel to your destination.
The Office of General Services is monitoring the storm and will be out sand and salting and plowing the streets. It is imperative vehicles parked on priority streets be moved after the accumulation of three inches of snow or they will be subject to ticketing and towing. This allows for plows to adequately clear streets for safe driving. Parking on priority streets may resume only after the storm has ended and the entire length of the street has been cleared of snow to the curb.
Priority streets are as follows:
Van Vranken Avenue
Nott Street (Erie Boulevard to Wendell Avenue)
Union Street
Eastern Avenue
Brandywine Avenue (State Street to Rugby Road)
McClellan Street (State Street to Rugby Road)
State Street
Erie Boulevard (State Street to I-890)
Albany Street (Veeder Avenue to Elm Street)
Altamont Avenue
Schuyler Street (Michigan Avenue to Altamont Avenue)
Michigan Avenue
Crane Street
Chrisler Avenue
Broadway (State Street to the city line)
Campbell Avenue (Broadway to Fairview Avenue)
In addition to priority street restrictions, drivers must adhere to posted parking signage on all city streets so that plows and salt spreaders may clear the streets as quickly as possible. Residents should also ensure their sidewalks are cleared and handicapped accessible, and clear one shovel-width of snow around fire hydrants. Snow should not be shoveled or plowed back into the street.
Residents can submit non-emergency requests through SeeClickFix and receive status updates on their progress. Submit requests through the city website or download the SeeClickFix app and submit requests on the go: www.CityofSchenectady.com/SeeClickFix
Whitehall
Village of Whitehall Mayor, Francis Putorti, reminds the Whitehall community ahead of the incoming winter weather that the village’s Winter Parking regulations are in effect.
The Village of Whitehall Winter Parking regulations are in effect from November 15th – May 1st from 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM – the regulations prohibit parking on all village streets and village maintained parking lots to allow for safe snow removal operations. Violators of the Winter Parking regulations are subject to ticketing and/or tow removal of the vehicles at the owners expense.
Mayor Putorti asks residents to please be courteous and mindful of the regulations and the importance of snow removal, allowing the Public Works staff the necessary space to conduct operations safely.
