It’s the season of giving, and Game Freak is getting in on the fun by giving away a free Mewtwo, along with its Mega Stones, in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

Starting today, players can obtain the Mega Stones (Mewtwonite X stone and a Mewtwonite Y stone) via Mystery Gift to kickstart a side mission. It’ll lead to you encountering Mewtwo down in Lysandre Labs, and you’ll walk away with Mewtwo in your party. You’ll have to have beaten the main story of Pokémon Legends: Z-A to access the side mission, however.

Mewtwo has been a mainstay in Pokémon since the first generation. It’s been given away via events throughout the years and has been catchable in a handful of games and DLC since Gen 1, like Pokémon X and Y. You may have a Mewtwo chilling in a Pokémon Home box, but as Pokémon Home isn’t compatible with Pokémon Legends: Z-A yet, this Mewtwo will be your only Mewtwo in Lumiose for a while.

Though it may not be as notable as November’s Mystery Gift that gave away a Pokémon who had been MIA for nearly a decade, getting a free, powerful Mewtwo is nothing to scoff at, especially with the Mega Dimension DLC around the corner. It will launch Dec. 10, and you’ll need all the powerful Pokémon you can get once their levels start soaring past level 100.

If you haven’t yet received a Mystery Gift and aren’t sure how to, our guide has you covered. They become available fairly early in the game, and some from launch should still be available, like Ralts holding a Gardevoirite.
