Passan notes the deal is a fully guaranteed, major league contract.
Manoah, 27, was originally taken with the 11th overall pick of the 2019 MLB Amateur Draft out of West Virginia by the Blue Jays and made his big league debut in 2021. After a solid rookie campaign, he broke through in 2022 with a 16-7 record in 196.2 innings pitched over 31 starts with a 2.24 earned run average and WHIP of 0.992. He finished third in American League Cy Young voting.
The following season saw Manoah regress badly. After 13 starts, he was demoted to the Florida Complex League in June of 2023. He returned to the team after a month in the minors and made six more starts before being optioned to the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons, effectively ending his season.
Manoah’s 2024 season ended after just five starts, requiring UCL surgery that June. He made three rehab starts in the summer of 2025 before being activated from the 60-day injured list and optioned to Buffalo. Following seven starts with the Bisons, Manoah was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on Sept. 23.
The Homestead, FL native was claimed off waivers by the Atlanta Braves days laster, but was non-tendered by the club in November.
For his career, Manoah is 29-20 with a 3.34 ERA and 1.164 WHIP over 420.0 inning of work in 75 starts.
