He wants to leave?”: Clippers Fans Stunned at Chris Paul’s IG Story as Star Seemingly Hints Displeasure With Lack of “Leeway

Chris Paul returned to the LA Clippers in the offseason, opting to finish his final NBA season with his former team. However, things haven’t gone as expected, and his latest Instagram story made that clear, leaving Clippers fans stunned.
The 12-time All-Star expressed his displeasure with the lack of “leeway,” sharing a picture of the word’s definition on his IG story. Paul’s story was later reshared on X (formerly Twitter) by Clippers insider Farbod Esnaashari.
Thanks for the submission!
“Chris Paul on Instagram:,” Esnaashari captioned the post.

Paul’s cryptic post garnered the attention of Clippers fans, who were left stunned.
@Farbod_E What does the sht mean? He wants to leave?
@Farbod_E Everybody wants out lmao. Just blow it up
Despite the post shocking many, a few fans believed the post was a jab at Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue.
@Farbod_E CP3 saying we need a new coach. Players don’t feel comfortable trying things. Players scared to make mistakes
@Farbod_E Chris wants to say “we need a new coach” but doesn’t have leeway to say this.
While fans argued over the possible meaning behind Paul’s story, few believed Paul was expecting too much and needed to retire.
@Farbod_E He can leeway his ass to retirement right now. He’s trash. How does tyronn get stuck with one washed guard who thinks they’re way better than they are every single season? CP3, Russ, wall. Throw in pj tucker too. I love Lawrence Frank but wyd my guy?
@Farbod_E Why would he think He would play minutes like its 2017 lmao
Although Paul’s story can be interpreted in various ways, one thing is for sure: his return has not gone as expected. The guard is averaging just 14.2 minutes across 15 games with 2.6 points and 3.3 rebounds as the Clippers (5-15) reel in 13th place.
With there being high hopes from the team at the start of the season after investing heavily in veterans, the return has been catastrophic. Despite having James Harden, Kawhi Leonard, Bradley Beal and Chris Paul, the team has struggled to build any chemistry due to limited minutes together and multiple injuries.
Harden has been the lone steady performer, averaging 27.7 points and 8.7 assists. Leonard has started to find his rhythm again after returning from injury, recording 25.4 points in 10 games.
Chris Paul registers his fourth scoreless game as his difficult season continues
Chris Paul is widely regarded as one of the best point guards of his generation. However, the 12-time All-Star is experiencing his worst-ever start to an NBA season this year after rejoining the Clippers in the offseason.
On Saturday, Paul logged his fourth scoreless game of the season, doubling his total from last year. He played 11 minutes against the Mavericks but couldn’t convert on any of his three field-goal attempts.
After starting all 82 games for the Spurs last season, Paul was expected to play a similar role in Los Angeles. Instead, Tyronn Lue has moved him to the bench, and he’s averaging just 14.2 minutes per game.
It has been a difficult and disappointing time for CP3 in what is expected to be his final NBA season.
