TV Ratings (2/12/25): Love Island Contestant Tantrums Continue To Dominate BVOD

Love Island continues to dominate the streaming stakes, producing a BVOD national average audience of over 400 thousand for the second consecutive night. The drama also continued on screen with Sophie Monk sending four islanders home.

In a Love Island Australia first, the original islanders have been overrun by the bombshells (islanders that enter the Villa after the start date). This forced Monk to take matters into her own hands and force the islanders to send four bombshells home. A total TV national reach of 657,000 and a total TV national average audience of 475,000, was entertained as Monk endured her quest of “cleaning up the villa”.

Spoiler alert: The islanders who had to depart the beautiful Majorca villa were Bailey (who only lasted 24 hours), Mia, Alex and Boston.

In true Love Island fashion a ‘firepit’ elimination wouldn’t be complete without a good old fashion wobbly. All the islanders took the news fairly well, except for Boston, who produced quite the entertaining dummy spit.

She went off at fellow islander, and sort-of love interest Mick, “You fucking dog, you opened up to me last night and now you’ve got a new girl today…. you’re a liar, game-player and we all see it.”

Boston is referring to how she shared a peck with Mick the night before, and not even 24-hours later he is all cuddled up with newest bombshell Emma.

It’s going to be awkward for the pair when they return to Melbourne, considering they are in the same social circles.

However, Nine wasn’t the most watched entertainment program of the night, with Tipping Point raking in a national reach of 1,474,000 and a national average audience of 584,000.

Over on Seven, The Chase claimed its top spot for entertainment programs with a reach of 1,138,000 and an average of 551,000.

Ten overnight showcased Sam Kerr’s Matilda’s return. The match marked the first time that Kerr had been in the green and gold on Australian soil for the first time in two years. The match saw Kerr and the Aussies defeated New Zealand 2-0, led by goals from Alanna Kennedy and Hayley Raso. But the broadcast was pipped in the ratings by Big Brother which pulled a reach of over one million and an average of 604,000.
