Quinton de Kock was batting on 8 runs from 10 balls when he decided to take an aerial route against Arshdeep Singh in the ongoing 2nd ODI against India in Raipur. But the left-handed wicketkeeper-batter failed to connect the ball properly and was caught by Washington Sundar on the fifth ball of the fifth over of the run chase at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium. Before returning back to the dugout, De Kock hammered two fours.

After Washington completed De Kock’s catch to help Arshdeep end the 26-run opening stand between him and Aiden Markram, Virat Kohli came up with a hilarious celebration and the clip of Kohli’s epic reaction is now going viral on the internet.

Here’s a look:

De Kock, who came out of retirement earlier this year, has performed very well against India in ODIs and could have created big problems for India in the ongoing match. But before he could think of doing anything like that and kill India’s chances in the ongoing match, he was sent back to the pavilion by the left-arm pacer, who is India’s fast bowling attack in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj.

53rd ODI century for Kohli

In the first half of the ongoing match, Kohli came out to bat at his usual No. 3 position and scored 102 runs from 93 balls. He crossed the 100-run mark by taking a single on the 90th of his innings. During his stay at the crease, Kohli hammered 7 fours and 2 sixes and added 195 runs for the third wicket with Ruturaj Gaikwad, who made 105 runs from 83 balls.

The century by Kohli in Raipur is his 53rd century in ODI cricket. He has scored seven ODI centuries against South Africa now. The former India captain now holds the record for scoring the most 100s in ODI matches played between India and South Africa. South Africa’s AB de Villiers and de Kock are second on the list with six centuries each, and Sachin Tendulkar finished his ODI career with 5 centuries against the South African team.
