LSU Tigers Intensify Recruitment Efforts with Key Flips and Targeting Four-Star QB Landon Duckworth

Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers coaching staff have been actively engaging in recruitment efforts ahead of the Early Signing Period, intensifying their strategies as the deadline approaches. Within the last 72 hours, the Tigers secured double-digit early signees and are eyeing additional flips from rival commitments.
One of the notable successes includes the signing of JC Anderson, a four-star tight end from Mt. Zion, Illinois. Anderson announced his decision to back out of his commitment to Ole Miss via social media on Tuesday, confirming his intention to join the LSU Tigers. Following him, Miami-based three-star offensive lineman Ryan Miret also rescinded his pledge to Ole Miss and officially signed with LSU. Furthermore, Corey Barber, a four-star wide receiver from Pinson, Alabama, switched his commitment from Ole Miss to LSU as well, signing with the Bayou Bengals on Wednesday.
The excitement doesn’t end there, as LSU is making a final push for Landon Duckworth, a highly-rated four-star quarterback from Jackson, Alabama, currently committed to South Carolina. Reportedly, the LSU coaching staff is ramping up their efforts to sway Duckworth away from Shane Beamer’s Gamecocks. Ranked as the No. 10 quarterback prospect in the 2026 recruiting class, Duckworth stands at 6-foot-3 and 195 pounds. He had previously chosen South Carolina over contenders such as Ole Miss and Auburn last summer.
Despite Duckworth’s verbal commitment, the competition remains fierce, and LSU appears to be gaining momentum in its bid for the talented quarterback. As the signing period progresses, the Bayou Bengals are banking on their intensified outreach and persuasive strategies to secure additional commitments and solidify their roster for the upcoming seasons.
