Jodie Ounsley eliminated from Celebrity MasterChef 2025 after cooking “disaster” cheesecake

Jodie Ounsley has become the latest contestant to exit the competitive kitchen of Celebrity MasterChef 2025. The Gladiator, known as Fury, faced the judges, John Torode and Grace Dent, during a challenging episode that ultimately led to her departure from the show just shy of the quarter-finals.
In this week’s third heat, Jodie was among a roster of celebrity competitors including Alfie Boe, Noreen Khan, Ashley Cain, and Alun Wyn Jones. The episode featured a special guest, Alexina Anatole, a notable MasterChef finalist from 2021, recognized for her creative use of unconventional ingredients.
The contestants were tasked with replicating one of Alexina’s recipes, which required Jodie to prepare pork and cranberry meatballs. However, she struggled significantly with the raw meat, which prompted Grace to comment on Jodie’s anxious demeanor while cooking. John echoed this concern, critiquing the sauce accompanying her meatballs as overly thick.
For the next round, contestants had to present their best two-course meals fit for a dinner party atmosphere. As the pressure mounted, Jodie’s entrée—a pasta dish with spiced chicken in tomato and chorizo sauce—turned into a struggle. During the preparation, she audibly expressed her discomfort, which drew comments from John regarding her apprehension towards handling the chicken.

Grace observed that while the individual components of Jodie’s dish had potential, they failed to come together cohesively. The evening ended on a sour note for Jodie, whose dessert—lemon cheesecake—also fell flat due to the crucial absence of a biscuit base. The judges noted that while the topping was well-executed, the lack of a base compromised the overall dish.
In her final moments on the show, Jodie reflected on her experience, admitting it had been a daunting yet enjoyable journey filled with learning. Despite the challenges she faced, she embraced the growth that came from stepping outside her comfort zone.
Celebrity MasterChef will return for its next episode on BBC One, providing viewers with more culinary challenges as the remaining contestants—Alfie, Noreen, Ashley, and Alun—vye for a spot in the semi-finals. The upcoming episode promises an immersive teamwork pairs challenge, followed by a presentation of two-course meals to a panel of three celebrity judges, ensuring that tensions remain high in the kitchen.
