Former Man Utd star sells over £100K worth of memorabilia including Premier League trophy

Former Manchester United star Paul Parker has earned over £100,000 after selling several pieces of treasured memorabilia.
Parker won the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup whilst at United between 1991 and 1996 where he made 146 appearances. The former defender has decided it was time to cash in on his memorabilia in what was a huge haul.

As reported by The Mirror, Parker sold medals from United’s 1993/94 Premier League triumph, as well as their FA Cup win vs Chelsea the same year. Each of the medals went for £16,120.
He also sold a miniature silver Premier League trophy which was given to winners during the 1992/93 season instead of medals, fetching £27,280.
The report also states that his League Cup winners medal fetched £5,700, while a further Charity Shield plaque was sold for £1,736.
Parker, who featured 19 times for England, including in the World Cup 1990 also sold off his caps which sold for £3,720.
However, the cap he was handed for England’s defeat to West Germany in the semi-finals of the 1990 World Cup in Italy went for far more at £8,060.
A spokesman for auctioneers Budds commented on why Parker would sell so much of his collection: “The main reason for selling is that he is quite friendly with Viv Anderson and some of the other players who have sold their collections.
“With the market so strong for Manchester United mementos at the moment he wants to maximise their value and give the proceeds to his family.”
