Festive sing-along in Wensleydale promises ‘joyous start’ to Christmas season

A festive sing-along concert is set to be held in Wensleydale this weekend.
Light My Choir, a mixed-voice community choir, will perform as part of the event, which will be held at St Matthew’s Church in Leyburn on Saturday, December 6 at 2pm.
The concert promises a joyful start to the Christmas season, featuring uplifting songs and audience participation.
Colin Bailey, concert coordinator, said: “Music is a great way to bring our communities together.
“Our choir sessions are lots of fun and we encourage everyone who likes to sing, listen and be with friends to come along and enjoy our festive concert.”
The group meets at Leyburn Methodist Church Hall on Mondays from 7pm to 9pm.
Membership is offered on a ‘pay what you can afford’ basis.
The concert will also include performances from guest artists including Gail Barlow, Bee Darceey and The Stanley Duo.
Guests can enjoy seasonal refreshments including mulled wine and mince pies, with donations welcomed in support of BlueBoxt Creative and Performing Arts Charity.
A Christmas raffle will also take place.
