I’m A Celebrity fans cry ‘poor Martin Kemp’ over campmate’s move as son Roman mocks comments

It comes after I’m A Celeb viewers were left questioning Martin’s whereabouts on the ITV show

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here fans were left crying ‘poor Martin Kemp’ after his starring moment in the latest episode became overshadowed by one of his co-stars.

The Spandau Ballet star was among the first ten celebrities seen entering the camp when the ITV reality show returned with its 2025 series back on November 16, with the number later rising to 12 with the late arrival of Tom Read Wilson and Vogue Williams.

But they are now slowly being kicked out of camp as the I’m A Celebrity 2027 final nears on Sunday (December 7), with only three to be left with chance of being crowned this year’s King or Queen of the jungle.

With the eliminations taking place thick and fast, some I’m A Celeb viewers have been left questioning Martin’s whereabouts as he has seemingly flown under the radar, and isn’t being put up for any of the last trials of the series.

It came before Martin’s wife, former Wham star Shirlie Kemp, was also heard wishing that Martin were a bit livelier in camp, saying on ITV’s Lorraine: “I think Martin’s been quite quiet though because I think that’s who he is, he’s quite quiet, and he likes to listen, so sometimes I want to say, ‘Martin, come on, do more!’ But I think it’s a good rest and a detox for him.”

And Martin’s son Roman, who came third in the show himself back in 2019, has also been seen mocking his dad’s lack of screentime on social media, writing on X (formerly known as Twitter): “y dad had an actual conversation on camera!!! #ImACelebrity,” alongside a GIF of Dec Donnelly prentending to win I’m A Celeb.

He also wrote after Kelly Brook became the latest celebrity to be voted off of the show: “THE GHOST OF THE JUNGLE LIVES ANOTHER DAY! Well done #TEAMKEMP! Now get voting to save him… WE GO AGAIN! #ImACelebrity.” However, the presenter later added: “I’ll tell you this, if my dad survives tomorrow. I’m going to need to start the anti-voting campaign. I’m not having him beat my 3rd place… I’d never live it down #ImACelebrity.”

But some I’m A Celeb viewers ended up feeling sorry for Martin as the campmates headed to the Jungle Arms. The special treat sees the campmates, instead of being forced to eat their rice and beans, and drink boiled water, they get to enjoy some tasty treats and a drink of their choice, as well as also getting to listen to some music and take part in some karaoke.

As Spandau Ballet’s hit track, ‘Gold’, played out, Martin was prepared to sing, but Lisa Riley seemed too excited and took over most of the vocals, and it quickly saw viewers flock to social media.

@KatieeShaww shared: “Poor Martin was just trying to sing his own song but couldn’t get the mic off Lisa#ImACeleb.” @harrisoniscool6 added: “Martin having to compete with lisa for the mic for.. his own song?? im sorry she’s a nice person but she does my head in the man hasn’t done anything for 2 weeks let him sing his song #imaceleb.”
