FC Porto teammates rally round Luuk de Jong after injury 🤝

Luuk de Jong stated he is “devastated” by the partial tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, which occurred during the match against Estoril, and he has received strong support from his teammates. “We’re together,” wrote William Gomes in the comments on the message posted by the 35-year-old forward. “We’ll be here for you, my friend,” assured Eustáquio, one of the locker room leaders. “Always together,” added Rodrigo Mora, while Alan Varela guaranteed: “You’ll come back stronger.”

“Yesterday I received the terrible news that I suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury. I am devastated. After months of hard work and training to return to help the team and this beautiful club, FC Porto, it hurts deeply to be sidelined from the pitch once again. I will face this challenge with everything I have, determined to come back even stronger, both physically and mentally,” read the Instagram post from the former PSV player.

De Jong returned in November after physical problems. He has played seven games in the blue and white shirt and scored one goal. It is still undecided whether the forward’s recovery process will follow a conservative approach or require surgical intervention.
