United have been in talks with Casemiro for a new deal following his resurgence in midfield this season, but at 33 years old he is hardly a long-term option for Ruben Amorim.
There is an option to extend Maguire’s contract by another year, but ideally, United would offer Maguire a lower wage to continue his time at Old Trafford. He currently earns £180,000 per week.

According to the Daily Mail, Maguire and Casemiro are still yet to receive any concrete contract offer from United to stay put at Old Trafford for the 2026/27 season.

Man United may have to replace Harry Maguire and Casemiro in 2026
Regardless of Casemiro’s contract situation, United will prioritise a central midfielder in 2026.
Even if the Brazil international stays put for another year, Amorim eventually needs a long-term replacement in midfield.
Elliot Anderson, Adam Wharton and Carlos Baleba are at the top of the shopping list, but if Casemiro is let go then United might need two new arrivals.
