Samsung Qi2 25W wireless charging dock surfaces for the magnetic Galaxy S26

According to a new report, Samsung is working on its own first-party Qi2 25W wireless charging dock for the Galaxy S26 series, which is expected to finally natively adopt Qi2 magnets.

Following the standard’s introduction nearly 3 years ago and Google’s adoption of built-in Qi2 magnets in the Pixel 10 series, Samsung is finally expected to give up on its half-hearted “Qi2 Ready” cases and put actual magnets inside of the Galaxy S26 series.

Now, a report from WinFuture helps to solidify Samsung’s plans.

According to the publication, Samsung is preparing its own first-party Qi2 25W charging dock under the model number EP-P2900. Sadly, there are no images of the device.

Samsung is no stranger to Qi2-compatible chargers, but existing models top out at 15W. As far as we can tell, that’s in part because “Qi2 Ready” only supports the 15W maximum of older Qi2 specs, whereas Qi 2.2 introduced 25W speeds only if magnetic alignment is in place.

It’s no smoking gun, but it certainly adds further credence to the idea that the Galaxy S26 series will have built-in magnets.

Rumor has it that Samsung will only support full 25W speeds on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, where the lesser Galaxy S26 and S26+ models would top out at 20W speeds. That’s not all that different from Google, which also limits 25W speeds to the Pixel 10 Pro XL while capping out at 15W on the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro. That said, Qi2 25W doesn’t really give you the speed benefits you might expect.
