Final Injury Report for Celtics-Wizards, Will Jaylen Brown, Alex Sarr Play?

The Boston Celtics are on the road on Thursday night as they travel to take on the Washington Wizards in an Eastern Conference matchup.

Boston enters Thursday’s game with a 12-9 record after defeating the New York Knicks at home on Tuesday night.

In Tuesday’s victory over the Knicks, Jaylen Brown led the way for the Celtics as he recorded 42 points, four rebounds and four assists while Derrick White added 22 points and five assists of his own.

Now Boston will try to grab another victory on Thursday night as they face off against a struggling Wizards team on the road.

On the other side, Washington enters Thursday’s contest with a 3-17 record after losing on the road to the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night.

Tristan Vukcevic led the way for the Wizards in Tuesday’s loss as he ended the game with 26 points, four rebounds and four assists off the bench while Marvin Bagley III recorded 13 points and eight rebounds.

While both teams are looking to pick up a victory in Thursday night’s matchup, both squads may be without multiple key players due to injuries.

Celtics Injury Report, Will Jaylen Brown Play?

For the Celtics, they have two players listed on their injury report for Thursday’s game, including Brown.

Boston has listed Brown as doubtful due to an illness and he is expected to miss his first game of the season on Thursday against the Wizards.

With Brown expected to be sidelined, Anfernee Simons, Hugo Gonzalez and Sam Hauser may be in line for larger roles while the Celtics will likely rely on White and Payton Pritchard to carry the load offensively.

The Celtics have also ruled out Jayson Tatum as he is expected to miss the entire season while recovering from a torn Achilles he suffered last year in the playoffs.

Wizards Injury Report, Will Alex Sarr, Bilal Coulibaly Play?

On the other side, the Wizards have five players listed on their injury report, including both Alex Sarr and Bilal Coulibaly.

Washington has ruled out Sarr due to adductor soreness as he will miss his third consecutive contest due to the injury.

With Sarr sidelined, Bagley III could draw another start while Vukcevic will likely continue to have a larger role off the bench.

The Wizards have also ruled out Coulibaly due to an oblique strain that he suffered in Tuesday’s loss to the 76ers and it is expected to sideline him for multiple weeks.

With Coulibaly sidelined, Cam Whitmore and Justin Champagnie could be in line for larger roles.

Tre Johnson, Corey Kispert and Sharife Cooper have also been ruled out as they continue to be sidelined due to injuries.

Fans can catch Thursday night’s matchup between the Celtics and Wizards from Capital One Arena at 7:00 p.m. EST.
