Jimmy Butler ruled out tonight against 76ers

Due to left knee soreness, Jimmy Butler has been downgraded from questionable to out against the Philadelphia 76ers tonight. That leaves the Golden State Warriors without their two main offensive engines in Butler and Steph Curry, who remains out of action due to a quadriceps contusion and will remain out of action for the rest of the Warriors’ east-coast road trip

Additionally, Al Horford (sciatica), Jonathan Kuminga (right ankle soreness), and Quinten Post (left ankle sprain) remain questionable. It was recently reported that Horford and Kuminga will warm up prior to getting official clearance against the Sixers.

Meanwhile, De’Anthony Melton will be making his season debut tonight, although his minutes will be monitored and he will reportedly play no longer than 20 minutes, a cautious approach after undergoing extensive rehabbing on an ACL injury he suffered last season with the Warriors.

At 11-11, the shorthanded Warriors are in danger of falling one game below .500 for the first time this season.
