Hazlewood, who has been ruled out of the first two Tests against England, was supposed to travel to Brisbane to be with the Australian squad to continue his rehabilitation but this masthead can reveal the trip was cancelled due to the fresh injury. He will remain in Sydney for now.

“Josh Hazlewood reported Achilles soreness this week during his rehabilitation from a recent hamstring injury,” a CA spokesperson said. “It is a low-grade issue and he is expected to recommence running and bowling next week.”
