The Ashes 2025 second Test day two LIVE updates: Australia’s reckless batting and England’s classic catch turn day-night Test on its head

Carey and Inglis have calmed proceedings, especially Carey after an edgy start from him. Roughly 10 overs left in the day’s play (England’s over rate isn’t too crash hot either just quietly) and Australia on track to take a lead.
Inglis gets a thick edge past Harry Brook at second slip, probably not close enough to call it a chance, but Brook didn’t pick that up at all either. Rubbing it in next ball, Inglis crashes a ball off the front foot through point.
Ben Stokes can’t take a trick, but he’s not backing off either with his aggressive field settings – he’s left Inglis’s favourite scoring zone vacant in the hope of drawing that edge.
Michael Vaughan has picked up in commentary – Stokes grimmacing and battling just a bit. He does have a habit of bowling himself into the ground as captain…
Australia 5-325: Carey 13* Inglis 20* trails England by 9 runs.
