Montreal braces for frigid weekend with wind chills near -13 C

Montrealers should bundle up Friday as a cold snap brings frigid temperatures and biting wind chills.

By midday Friday, temperatures will reach minus-7 Celsius and wind chill will make it feel as cold as minus-13 C in the afternoon.

Overnight, skies will be partly cloudy before becoming overcast near midnight, with a low of minus-9 C and a wind chill near minus-14 C.

The weekend will also remain chilly.

Saturday will see flurries with highs near minus-1 C and a morning wind chill of minus-13 C, easing to minus-7 C in the afternoon.

Saturday night will be cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of flurries and a low near minus-12 C.

Sunday will bring sunshine with a high of minus-9 C and cloudy periods overnight with a low of minus-13 C.

Looking ahead, Montrealers can expect temperatures to remain below freezing next week, with a mix of sun, clouds and occasional snow.
