Freeman, Reynolds team up for SickKids fundraiser with World Series twist

Freddie Freeman isn’t being let off the hook after crushing the Toronto Blue Jays’ World Series hopes this fall.
Freeman, who delivered clutch performances during the Los Angeles Dodgers’ championship run, appeared alongside Reynolds, promoting the annual fundraising campaign for the SickKids Foundation, with a push for donations that will be matched up to US$1 million through Dec. 24.
In the clip, shared on Reynolds’ social channels, Freeman walks into Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children only to be greeted by children and families still smarting from the Jays’ playoff exit.
“You ruined everything!” and “Go back to your sunshine and traffic, you hoser!” were among the playful — if pointed — comments to the Dodgers first baseman before chanting, “Let’s go Blue Jays!”
Freeman, who has played for Canada (his parents’ birthplace) at the World Baseball Classic , is no stranger to the important work being done at children’s hospitals.
Back in August 2024, Freeman revealed that his son Maximus had been diagnosed with a rare neurological condition called Guillain-Barre syndrome. The rare neurological disorder occurs when the body’s immune system attacks the peripheral nervous system and causes nerve damage and muscle weakness.
Maximus was able to return home and is expected to make a full recovery. Freeman would donate $1 million to the Children’s Hospital of Orange County after witnessing the work being done by doctors and staff.
