Super Lig: Osimhen hits dramatic winner for Galatasaray

Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, scored a dramatic match-winner for Galatasaray in their 3-2 win over Samsunspor in the Turkish Super Lig on Friday night, www.aclsports.com reports.
Osimhen, who missed a couple of games due to an injury he picked up in Nigeria’s continental final playoff match against DR Congo, started the big clash with Fenerbahce that ended in a draw last week. Although he failed to score in that fixture, he was the hero as Gala returned to winning ways on Friday night at the Rams Park in Istanbul.
It did not take long for Gala to signal their intentions to return to winning ways when Leroy Sane handed them the lead early on. Just a minute before the half-hour mark, Sane threaded a fine throughball onto the path of Osimhen to finish for the home side’s second goal of the game. The Turkish champions were firmly in control at the break.
After the restart of proceedings, the visitors got themselves a lifeline when Anthony Musaba halved the deficit in the 56th minute. Just two minutes left on the clock, Samsunspor were levelled as an effort from Emre Kilinic was deflected past Gala’s goalkeeper.
But that was not the end of the game, with Osimhen capping off another fine performance for the champions with the winner in the second minute of additional time. The 26-year-old’s overhead kick flew past Okan Kocuk, as the striker completed his brace in the five-goal thriller. Despite a late charge from the visitors, Gala went ahead to claim another win.
The pair of goals took Osimhen’s season tally to 11 goals from 14 appearances. Osimhen and Gala will now travel to face Monaco in the UEFA Champions League, where he could reach 50 goals for the Turkish club with another double.
