Cat Deeley has been channelling the festive style of the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, this week. The ITV presenter appeared on This Morning sporting a ‘cosy’ winter knit, reminiscent of the Fair Isle jumpers that the Duchess is fond of.
The exact jumper donned by the daytime TV host was Boden’s Marion Merino High Neck Jumper in the Poppy Red Fair Isle print. Typically priced at £119, for a limited period, shoppers can avail a 15% discount using the code RHDT at checkout, reducing the price to £101.15.
Described as an ‘ultra soft’ high-neck jumper, it’s made from 100% premium merino wool, making it an ideal layering piece for the colder months. Boden touts it as ‘a brilliant long-term investment that you can keep on rotation for years’.
Its poppy red colour is fittingly festive, and the Fair Isle motif on the yoke lends it a nostalgic yet timeless appeal. It evokes images of Hallmark films like The Holiday, après-ski vibes, or a Christmas with The Royals.
The Duchess of Cambridge has frequently sported fair-isle jumpers in recent years, with one of her most notable being a Supersoft Lambswool Fair Isle Yoke Jumper from British brand Brora, reports the Mirror.
The Royal has also been seen wearing a Holland Cooper knit during a CBeebies segment where she read The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark, as well as at an event prior to her ‘Together at Christmas’ carol service.
Fair Isle jumpers remain a favourite amongst style enthusiasts this winter, with numerous budget-friendly alternatives available on the high street. FatFace offers a Red Dog Fairisle Knitted High Neck Jumper for £52.
Featuring a festive red shade and a figure-flattering cut, it’s ideal for layering during cold spells or bringing a touch of seasonal cheer to your winter wardrobe.
Marks and Spencer stocks a Boucle Fair Isle Relaxed Jumper With Wool priced at £36. The design features a relaxed fit with stretch fabric incorporated for enhanced comfort.
At Boden, numerous customers have shared enthusiastic feedback about the festive knit. One reviewer remarked: “Love this sweater! I usually buy cashmere but the merino wool is a nice weight and not too heavy It fights very well – arms and body length are perfect. I love the orange and I’ll be buying a fair isle soon.”
Another customer shared: “I received the sweater today and love it. I’m so happy. Sweaters are usually always kind of disadvantageous to me. I’m tall, a normal figure, a lot of bust size.
“This sweater warms up to the neck, fits perfectly everywhere, the seams on the chest make it appear narrower, the pattern is simply cute and attractive. The sweater is relatively short, but as a result, it does not stand up on the hip. I wear a long vest with lace that sticks out at the bottom, it’s perfect.”
However, some reviewers have raised concerns about the jumper’s fit, with one noting: “Fit true to size everywhere else but the neck goes all the way up to my chin, and when you try to roll it down a little, the gape between the shoulders gets worse.”
Despite this, another buyer countered: “A really cosy, lovely sweater. The negative reviews do not apply in my case. The sweater doesn’t stick out or crease anywhere it shouldn’t. Everything is great and I really like the overall pattern. I bought it in orange and have already received a few compliments.”
A fifth purchaser added: “Despite the negative reviews, I still dared to order these beautiful sweaters in light blue and poppy red because I couldn’t decide. The sweaters fit perfectly, are cosy, great colours,”.
