Shane Lowry and Roy Keane made special guest appearances on this year’s Late Late Toy Show hosted by Patrick Kielty on RTÉ One.
In a Grinch-themed show, Kielty donned the beloved Christmas character’s notorious green fur and went through a line-up of toys alongside youngster Declan after the show opened.
Declan and Kielty looked through toys, including dinosaurs from Jurassic World and How to Train Your Dragon, before Declan showed off his golf skills in a putting potty.

After sinking an impressive shot that gained rapturous applause from the audience, Declan went on to say his heroes were Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry.
Lowry then appeared via a video to the amazement of young Declan. The golf star apologised for not being able to make the show in person and gave his young protégé some words of advice that included practicing as much as possible and to keep enjoying it.
A beaming Declan was then invited to go to next year’s Irish Open and spend a day with Lowry, which he gleefully accepted.
Fans online were buzzing for young Declan with one saying, “Shane Lowry just became an even bigger legend than he already was! #LateLateToyShow.”

Former Manchester United and Ireland midfielder Keane showed up later on, as he cheered on two young friends who won an abundance of toys for children in hospital and a couple for themselves as well.
