Conor Bradley injury breakthrough for Leeds United vs. Liverpool

Arne Slot has confirmed that Conor Bradley will be available for selection for Liverpool vs. Leeds United at Elland Road on Saturday.
The injury news provides a boost for the Reds, with Joe Gomez filling in at right-back over the last few games, due to Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong having to look on from the treatment room.
At his press conference on Friday ahead of the trip to West Yorkshire, Slot said that “Conor Bradley has trained this week, so I expect him to train today and then he is available to be in the squad tomorrow.”
The Dutchman also confirmed no further injury issues were sustained in the 1-1 draw with Sunderland, while Gomez was taken off as a precaution.
“Joe Gomez got a knock in the West Ham game but was still able to start (against Sunderland).
“He couldn’t make the full 90 minutes, but I think he will be able to train again today.”

Decisions to be made on Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez
Slot won’t want to rush Conor Bradley, but he will have a decision on his hands if Gomez is deemed too much of a risk to start the game against Leeds.
It could mean Dominik Szoboszlai will have to deputise again at right-back, but that option is a last resort.
Initially, it was thought that Northern Ireland’s Conor Bradley would be unavailable until mid-December, after the Brighton fixture on 13 December, but he has surpassed that timeline with his recovery.
Bradley returned to training on Tuesday this week, but Slot tempered expectations, stating “Don’t get your hopes up too soon, too fast,” but he is on course to return to the squad for the Premier League clash against Leeds.
Jeremie Frimpong is still expected to be unavailable for at least another two weeks.
Liverpool and Slot under pressure to find Premier League form
Liverpool go into Saturday’s game on a run of just two wins in their last five league fixtures, and one in five overall.
They will be expected to beat Daniel Farke’s Whites, but they will be looking at the vulnerability in Slot’s side and aim to take advantage in front of their vociferous home crowd.
Three points could take Liverpool from 9th to 4th or 5th place in the Premier League table, depending on other results, but a loss could see them drop down as far as 14th.
As it stands, just three points separate the clubs from 7th to 14th place in the Premier League, so the busy December schedule right through to the new year promises to deliver plenty of twists and turns.
With the pressure on Arne Slot, he needs to pull his team up the table, but they will only do that if they can find form and eradicate the soft underbelly that has been exposed in recent weeks.
