Arne Slot hints at right-back change with Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez update

Conor Bradley will be back in the squad as Liverpool visit Leeds on Saturday, and Arne Slot hinted the right-back could even start following a knock to Joe Gomez last week.
Gomez has started each of the last two games at right-back and impressed in doing so, but has nursed a knock in the meantime.
That comes with the No. 2 suffering a blow in the 2-0 win over West Ham but keeping his place for the 1-1 draw with Sunderland, before being replaced by Curtis Jones in the second half.
Bradley’s return to training is a boost, therefore, with Slot suggesting in his pre-match press conference that the Northern Irishman could take over in the role.
“They did,” he said when asked if everyone came through the Sunderland game without issue.
“Joe Gomez got a knock in the West Ham game but was still able to start. But he couldn’t make the full 90 minutes.
“I think he will be able to train again today. Yesterday was a recovery day for most of them, today we will train again and let’s see where they are.
“But Conor Bradley has trained this week, so I expect him to train today and then he is available to be in the squad tomorrow.”
Bradley among expected Liverpool changes vs. Leeds
Bradley’s return is timely, with Liverpool struggling for right-back options in recent weeks, and Jeremie Frimpong is also not far off availability either.
It comes with the injury situation slowly improving beyond long-term absentee Giovanni Leoni, with Jayden Danns and Stefan Bajcetic stepping up their recovery too.
Slot is likely to make changes for the trip to Elland Road, with Florian Wirtz possibly dropping to the bench after starting twice in four days and playing the full 90 minutes in midweek.
Milos Kerkez could also return for Andy Robertson, while Curtis Jones and Hugo Ekitike are likely to be considered in place of Alexis Mac Allister and Alexander Isak.
Bradley’s recent layoff is his second already this season, having suffered a hamstring issue at the very start of the campaign, and the frequency of his setbacks is undoubtedly a concern.
But when fit he provides a top-level option in the right-back role, having again dominated in the 1-0 win over Real Madrid prior to his injury.
Predicted Liverpool XI vs. Leeds: Alisson; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Jones; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Ekitike
