Conor McGregor is back.
McGregor is a living legend of the UFC and the main character who changed the history of the group. Of course, it’s been more than four years since he left the Octagon, but he’s back and the goal is clear.
McGregor recently announced his participation in the UFC White House next year. Michael Chandler is mentioned as his likely opponent, but there is also the possibility of change.

Of course, McGregor did not just focus on his immediate return. He has a solid motivation to return to the Octagon and that is to become the welterweight champion, the first triple champion in UFC history.
Asked about a potential showdown with Islamic Makachev, McGregor told Bloody Elbow: “I’ve got enough motivation. I really want to challenge the welterweight belt. And I want to be a triple champion.”
It’s not clear when or where McGregor wants Makachev. It is also unreasonable to make a matchup right away. Makachev recently beat Jack Dela Madalena to become the welterweight champion and double champion. McGregor, on the other hand, left the Octagon for a long time after losing to Dustin Poirier.

What matters is that McGregor still has the heart of a warrior in a long gap. On top of that, a matchup with Makachev is the best box office card the UFC can expect.
Makachev is a student of Khabib Nurmagomedov and has seen the part of McGregor and Khabib’s Liberley in the past. It’s hard to say it’s McGregor and Makachev’s bad relationship, but there’s definitely a story line.
“It’s going to be a good game, a good battle,” McGregor said. “Makachev showed a really good performance and it’s something to admit that he showed courage and raised his weight class. So I’m looking forward to it. Let’s see how it goes. We’re going back into the competition,” he said.
