Water-filled movie billboard makes a splash for Percy Jackson

Disney+ brought a splash of the mythological to Hollywood this week, unveiling a live water-filled billboard to promote Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2.

Installed at the high-traffic Hollywood and Vine intersection, the billboard was no static poster.

Assembled with a real water tank, complete with cascading fountains, mist bursts, and synced video footage from the newly released Season 2 trailer.

The effect was striking: water elements activated in rhythm with on-screen visuals, casting a dreamlike veil across the sidewalk and drawing a steady stream of onlookers.

The dramatic build taps into the series’ water-themed lore—Season 2 is based on The Sea of Monsters, Rick Riordan’s second book in the series—and continues Disney’s push for cinematic-level outdoor activations.
