Mavericks vs. Thunder: Live updates, highlights for Friday’s game

The Oklahoma City Thunder will host the Dallas Mavericks on Friday. This will be the second matchup of the season between the squads. Last time, OKC collected a rare win at Dallas on Oct. 27.

The Thunder (21-1) have won 13 in a row. They avoided a meltdown in their 124-112 win over the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had an efficient 38 points to close it out.

Meanwhile, the Mavericks (8-15) have won three in a row. They enjoyed a 118-108 win over the Miami Heat on Wednesday. Cooper Flagg continues to stack up good performances with an efficient 22 points.

For live updates of the Thunder’s game against the Mavericks, please regularly check back to this post:

This one is about over. Gilgeous-Alexander has 33 points on 10-of-12 shooting. That should be it for him as the Thunder overwhelmed the Mavericks.

Getting the 2nd-chance look, Davis’ layup attempt was swarmed by several OKC defenders. Holmgren blocked the shot to hold him scoreless. The Thunder dominated the finish of the second quarter to create some separation. Gilgeous-Alexander has 17 points.

Pretty good Williams-Holmgren bench minutes so far. Kenrich Williams has been huge on both sides.

The Thunder are not doing a good job of ball security. They have five turnovers already. That must get cleaned up, as it plays right into what the Mavericks want to do. Gilgeous-Alexander has eight points and three assists.

Williams gets called for a foul on Davis. So far, it’s the Dallas role players who have hit on their jumpers.

The Thunder will start Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Cason Wallace, Jalen Williams, Jaylin Williams and Chet Holmgren. The Mavericks will start Ryan Nembhard, Max Christie, Naji Marshall, Cooper Flagg and Anthony Davis.
