Valencia Marathon 2025: Preview, full schedule and how to watch the action live

Athletes to watch at the Valencia Marathon 2025

Just about three months after racing to the world title at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Jepchirchir returns for her second marathon of the year with the aim of improving her personal best.

She has barely recovered from what was a heated race in every sense, as she had to dig deep to beat Ethiopian Tigist Assefa for the world gold in warm and humid conditions.

That was her second major title Japan where she clinched her Olympic title four years ago and successfully launched her marathon career in 2020.

Sunday’s race will also feature fellow Kenyan Joyciline Jepkosgei (2:16:24), the 2019 New York Marathon champion, and Beriso, the 2023 winner and current record holder on the Valencia course with a time of 2:14:58.

Keria D’Amato, the American half-marathon record holder, is among the elites who will also look to capitalise on the ideal weather conditions, which typically fall within the 12-17C range at this time of the year.

She is still one of the most accomplished marathoners in her country at the age of 41.

European marathon silver medallist Majida Maayouf leads the Spanish charge.
