Adam Sandler and Ariana Grande Are Disney Adults First, Actors Second

Adam Sandler and Ariana Grande first met on the Haunted Mansion. Picture it: it’s closing time at the Happiest Place on Earth. The Sandman, Ariana Grande, the Hatbox Ghost — three queens linking up to maximize their joint slay. During the Variety “Actors on Actors” gabfest between Sandler and Grande, the two reminisced about meeting in the pre-ride queue of the Haunted Mansion. “We’d just gotten off of the scary elevator that says ‘Are these walls actually stretching?’” Grande said. “When it shows the hanging body? I can’t believe that.” Sandler, in true dad form, mainly remembered the line. Or lack thereof. “It was like 11 o’clock at night,” he said. “There was no line.”
This meeting of the minds took place back when Grande was dating Mac Miller, as Sandler recounted that “Mac” was with her at the time. Sandler was accompanied by his wife and daughters, who are Arianators. As evidence, scroll a little further along the Variety video, where Sandler says his family played Grande’s rendition of “I Won’t Say I’m in Love” from Disney’s Hercules on repeat since it dropped. He even shouts out composer/Disney Legend Alan Menken. “Love that guy,” he said. Grande barely remembers doing it, calling the song a “pandemic blackout spot.” But Adam Sandler remembers. Oh, Adam Sandler remembers.
