Manchester City vs Sunderland

Phil Foden scored twice in Manchester City’s incredible 5-4 win at Fulham to add to his double in last weekend’s similarly chaotic 3-2 win over Leeds.

Another brace will see him emulate Erling Haaland and join the Norwegian, who is the only City player to score twice or more in three successive league games.

Looking further back, Tammy Abraham was the last English player to do so in 2019, and it is his nationality that is potentially driving Foden forward.

The 25-year-old’s poor form last season means he remains a doubt to make England’s World Cup squad but despite Sunderland’s excellent start to their Premier League return, they have conceded in their last six games and Foden can feast on any errors.

Newcastle vs Burnley

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe was looking to give Bruno Guimaraes a rest on Tuesday but Sandro Tonali’s knock meant the Brazilian played the second half against Tottenham.

The 28-year-old opened the scoring in the 2-2 draw with a brilliant driven effort from the edge of the Spurs area and has now netted three times and provided an assist in his last four home league games.

Saturday’s visitors Burnley have already conceded 28 goals this season, the second-most in the division.

The skipper looks set to come back into the Magpies’ starting side and should get chances in the Clarets’ defensive third.

Leeds vs Liverpool

It’s no secret that Liverpool are struggling, but Dominik Szoboszlai is having an excellent season.

Whether at right-back or in midfield, the Hungarian has an innate ability to find space and needs little invitation to shoot at goal.

Szoboszlai has scored only once, a spectacular free-kick against Arsenal, but he registered four efforts in Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with Sunderland.

Leeds’s strong showing at Manchester City last weekend and their 3-1 midweek win over Chelsea were built on a deep-lying defence and an aim to attack on the break.

Daniel Farke’s side are likely to do the same in the late game at Elland Road and Szoboszlai could get chances to try his luck from distance.

Brighton vs West Ham

Summer arrival Soungoutou Magassa had his best game since joining West Ham in Thursday’s 1-1 draw at Manchester United, capping his performance with an 83rd-minute equaliser.

Magassa successfully completed four tackles, but also committed four fouls and is likely to be busy again when the Hammers head to Brighton on Sunday.

West Ham have won only one of their eight trips to Brighton since the Seagulls’ elevation to the Premier League in 2017.

Carlos Baleba is expected to be one of Brighton’s two holding midfielders and Magassa may relish taking on one of the leading players in his position.
