Leinster GAA finals day LIVE: Updates from Croke Park as both the Leinster hurling and football champions are decided, with four teams eager for the prize

Provincial finals continue to come thick and fast, with Leinster’s football and hurling finals forming a double-header at Croke Park today.
Things get underway with the football portion of the feast, with final debutants Athy of Kildare taking on Dublin giants Ballyboden St Enda’s, who are going for their first provincial gong in five years.
Coincidentally, that was the last year that Athy secured the Kildare SFC title, but they didn’t get the chance to compete at the provincial level due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Athy are hoping to upset the odds by taking their first Leinster title over Ballyboden St Enda’s at Croke Park.
The Dublin outfit have got plenty of county talent at their disposal, including Dublin’s Colm Basquel, Galway’s Cein Darcy and Antrim’s Peter Healy.
Later on, Henry Shefflin’s Ballyhale Shamrocks take on St Martin’s of Wexford, looking for their 13th provincial title.
St Martin’s have had an impressive run to the final, beating heavyweights Naas (Kildare) and Na Fianna (Dublin).
Kilkenny’s Ballyhale Shamrocks overcame an eventful quarter-final against Killcormac-Killoughy of Offaly before securing a rough and tumble win over Clough Ballacolla.
St Martin’s are hoping to join fellow Wexford clubs Rathnure, Buffer’s Alley and Oulart–The Ballagh in the Leinster roll of honour.
