QTCinderella Says She’d Be A “Happier Person” If She’d Never Started Streaming

Twitch streamer and The Streamer Awards organiser QTCinderella has revealed in a new interview that she wishes she’d never got into streaming.

Although a lot of people think that streaming is an easy job that anyone would be lucky to have, that’s been proven to be far from the truth many times over the past few years. It’s especially rough for female content creators, with multiple examples in the last year alone of prominent figures being stalked, assaulted, and threatened.

QTCinderella is one such prominent figure in the streaming space, and she’s had more than her fair share of trouble in the years since she started on Twitch. Although she’s done some big things since, like organising The Streamer Awards, she recently shared some hard truths about her time during a recent interview with the BBC.

QTCinderella Says She Wishes She Could Go Back And Tell Her Younger Self To Avoid Streaming

“As A Human, You Just Want To Be Understood”

While chatting to the BBC about her time on Twitch and hosting The Streamer Awards, QTCinderella noted that, while she feels “incredibly lucky” to be in her position, she wishes that she’d never started streaming in the first place. QTCinderella thinks she’d be a “happier person” if she could never experience the major downsides of the job.

QTCinderella pointed out that the “biggest thing” she wishes she could do is go back and tell herself “don’t do it” when she was starting out, which goes some way to explaining how bad things can get for some content creators. One of the biggest issues is harassment, which the streamer is facing not only in her DMs, but also from the craft shop, QTCrafts, she opened in LA earlier in the year.

The biggest thing I wish I could do, if I went back and was able to whisper in my ear, I would say, don’t do it. – QTCinderella

Despite owning the shop, QTCinderella says she rarely visits it because men turn up to the store asking about her, which she thinks is endangering her employees. As awful as it’s been for QTCinderella, she’s at least trying to do right by her fellow streamers, as she talks a lot about security and bringing people together at least for one night by organising The Streamer Awards.
