“We’re a small tight knit team here on Pearse Street, so it’s fantastic to think that one of our customers has won such an incredibly big prize. It’s great news and we’re all buzzing here in the store. We’d like to wish the winner the very best and every happiness for the future,” she said.
National Lottery spokesperson Darragh O’Dwyer said: “We’re thrilled to announce Ireland’s newest millionaire, who scooped an incredible €6,241,505 in Wednesday night’s Lotto draw.
“This is the second big win for Westmeath this week, following Monday’s EuroDreams Tier 2 prize of €2,000 a month for five years sold in Monksland Service Station, Athlone. Add Sunday’s €1 million Daily Million win in Cavan, and it’s been an extraordinary week of big wins! So far this year, the National Lottery has created 26 millionaires.”
