Community Calendar: Holiday celebrations, concerts and sales

Churchill holiday expo, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Churchill Elementary School. Over 100 crafters and other vendors, and basket raffle. $5 admission for adults. Proceeds go to Churchill Elementary Partners in Education. Gift-wrapping available with donation to Carlton County Animal Rescue. Silent auction and bake sale, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Cloquet VFW. American Legion Post 262 and Auxiliary fundraiser includes holiday gift auction that closes at 7 p.m., bake sale until gone and coney dogs for lunch.

Scandinavian bazaar, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Bethesda Lutheran Church, 204 Fifth St., Carlton. Lefse, cookies and other treats, lunch, crafts and like-new items.

“The Polar Express,” 1 p.m., Lake Theatre, 318 Elm Ave., Moose Lake. Free screening sponsored by Holistic Wellness and Diamond Dance Studio.

Parade and fireworks, 5 p.m., downtown Cloquet. Parade goes down Cloquet Avenue from 18th to Eighth streets. Stop by the fire station on your way for a s’more. Fireworks over downtown concludes the Santa’s Home for the Holidays celebration.

Sunday with Santa, 1-3 p.m., Carlton High School small gymnasium. National Honor Society students host event with crafts, games and other children’s activities, and a chance to meet Santa.

Cloquet Area Community Band, 2 p.m., Cloquet Presbyterian Church, 47 Fourth St. Holiday music and refreshments follow. Freewill donations accepted.

Holy Hootenanners, 2 p.m., Moose Lake High School. Band blends gospel, spiritual, blues and folk. Performance part of the Agate Encores Community Concerts. Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for students at
