Henry Cejudo is set to take home an eye-watering $50,000 bonus despite losing his retirement fight at UFC 323.

Cejudo is among the most popular personalities in MMA today and is widely considered among the greatest fighters of all time. The former Olympic gold medalist wrestler and former two-division UFC champion has a professional record of 16-6, with victories over high-profile fighters like Dominick Cruz, Demetrious Johnson, T.J. Dillashaw, and Marlon Moraes on his resume.

After a storied career, Cejudo went up against Payton Talbott in his retirement fight at UFC 323 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Talbott outpointed ‘Triple C’ over three rounds and ultimately got his hand raised via unanimous decision. While Talbott won the fight, Cejudo impressed many with his tenacity and grit after tanking multiple hard shots from his 27-year-old opponent.

In the immediate aftermath of the fight, Cejudo shared a heartfelt conversation with Dana White, who was standing outside the octagon. During their exchange, Cejudo asked White to “take care” of Talbott and asked if he qualified for a $50,000 ‘Fight Of The Night’ bonus. White replied:

“Hey, f**k it, I’ll give $50,000 anyway.”

Cejudo responded:

“Thanks, boss.”

In the final post-fight octagon interview ever, Henry Cejudo took a moment to thank Dana White and the UFC brass for their work.

The former two-division champion reflected on the UFC’s humble beginnings and lauded White for taking the promotion to new heights. Speaking to Joe Rogan after his retirement fight (via @UFCEurope on X), Cejudo said:

“To Uncle Dana, thanks for this opportunity. Hunter [Campbell], Mick Maynard, everyone from the UFC. Man, you guys bought the UFC for $2 million. 42 in the hole. What’s it worth now? About several billion, I think something like $15 billion. You guys have changed so many lives. And I do agree with Dana that mixed martial arts will be the best sport in the world.”
