Celebrities at the 2025 Red Sea International Film Festival

There were many more celebrities who brought the glamour to the opening night premiere for Giant at the 2025 Red Sea International Film Festival, joining Kirsten Dunst and Ana de Armas.

Modern Sheer Illusion

Dakota Johnson wore an Alessandra Rich look that cleverly played with the illusion of two separate pieces. The cut-outs created a sculptural effect through the torso, offering her signature flirtation with transparency in a sharper, more architectural way. I know many of you feel her sheer formula is becoming predictable, so did you find this sharper execution intriguing? Paris Texas Lidia pumps and a stunning Chopard Haute Joaillerie diamond necklace brought a high level of sparkle — surprising given her Robert Coin ambassadorship but likely explained by event sponsorship. Either way, the necklace was undeniably spectacular.

Caped Confidence

I grant you that this Balenciaga gown is a lot of dress, but Juliette Binoche carries it with the kind of assurance that few can. I’m intrigued by how the caped back introduced the drama, and the leather gloves sharpened the entire mood. It’s commanding, yes — but most importantly, it doesn’t wear her.

Minimal Detour

Naomie Harris has long been a champion of colour, prints, and layered surfaces, so her pivot into minimalist territory with David Koma was unexpected. A high-neck t-shirt-style top paired with a crinkled bow-accented skirt is not the kind of look we usually associate with her. Some will call it too subdued for Naomie’s usual red carpet standards, but after a few recent outings that didn’t quite land, I welcomed the reset. Aquazzura So Nude pumps and a black clutch kept the styling clean and precise.

Couture in Full Colour

From minimalist to maximalist in one step: Queen Latifah could not be missed in her Georges Hobeika Fall 2022 Couture caftan. The bold aqua blue hue alone made her a standout in a sea of black, but it was the feathered trim and dense embellishment that truly elevated the look into full couture territory. Like Kirsten Dunst, she proved that colour is sometimes the most effective statement on a carpet dominated by noir.

Unpredictable Glamour

You weren’t fans of her Tom Ford look at The Fashion Awards, but Rita Ora took a different direction here in a Tima Abid Fall 2025 gown — and this, for me, is one of her strongest moments of the year. I always enjoy Rita most when she leans into her less expected fashion instincts, and this look had just enough drama without slipping into eye roll territory.

Lanvin with Attitude

No matter what Natasha Lyonne wears, she will always inject it with her own signature irreverence — and her unmistakable pose. This time she wore a Lanvin Cassandre knit spider dress from the Fall 2025 collection. The dress delivered the glamour; she delivered the attitude. The sunglasses and earrings sealed it — unapologetically Natasha.

Classic with a Twist

Some of you might feel that Jessica Alba’s Elie Saab Fall 2025 Haute Couture gown leaned into familiar territory, largely because the mermaid silhouette. I would understand that reaction. What keeps me invested here, however, is the moiré fabric and the structure through the body. Even with the nostalgia, this was beautifully executed.

Prada Endures

Uma Thurman’s long-standing relationship with Prada continues to deliver dependable elegance. The design itself was restrained, but the silver embroidered detailing, Prada silver leather clutch, and Chopard jewellery, lifted the entire look into something suitably event-worthy. It’s classic Uma, and that consistency remains her greatest fashion strength.

Sleek Backless Moment

Nina Dobrev stepped out in a backless Lanvin Fall 2025 gown styled with Ysso jewellery and Aquazzura Passion Crystal pumps. The open-back detail added just enough allure to balance the simplicity of the silhouette, while the crystal-embellished shoes complemented the embellished capelet.

Embellishment Overload

We’ve all noted Aishwarya Rai’s fondness for heavily embellished, high-impact designs, and this Dolce & Gabbana look followed that exact pattern. For me, the blazer alone was already doing too much, and when layered over a dress already rich in decoration, the effect tipped into visual overload. Naomi Campbell wore the same design back in 2018. This ongoing fashion phase from Aishwarya continues to challenge me — and not in the way I’d hope.
