Ferrari to conduct key 2026-focused tests: full schedule with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton

Scuderia Ferrari will return to the track to complete tests that will be crucial for the 2026 season. Here is the full program, which will see both Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton in action.

The Prancing Horse will get back on track after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix for tests aimed at preparing for 2026. Ferrari will adapt the SF-25 to run with the new Pirelli tire specifications, and both Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton will take turns driving the car. Additionally, a driver from the Ferrari Driver Academy will participate in the ‘Young Driver Test’ program. Here is the complete schedule.

Why the tests are important

As is customary at the end of each season, Pirelli organizes final tests to gather additional data to develop tires for the following year. The 2026 regulatory changes will bring significant modifications, including new tire dimensions and a hybrid engine system powered partly by electric and partly by internal combustion components. To simulate the lower load of the new cars, the SF-25, as in previous tests this year, will be fitted with ultra-light wings.

Below is the complete program for Ferrari from Maranello and the schedule of when the cars will be on track.

Ferrari on track Tuesday, December 9 – full schedule

According to the official Ferrari website, the team will have both cars on track, one of which will be equipped to run with the 2026 tires. Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton will alternate driving this car, while the standard SF-25 will be driven by Dino Beganovic, participating in the Young Driver Test. The young Ferrari Driver Academy driver gained experience in 2025 with two FP1 sessions, in Bahrain and Austria, substituting for Charles Leclerc, along with several tests in previous-generation cars. In the first session in Abu Dhabi, the seven-time world champion’s seat will be taken by Charles Leclerc’s younger brother, Arthur Leclerc.

The test will run from 09:00 to 18:00 at Yas Marina. Each team will be provided with one set of C2 tires, three sets each of C3, C4, and C5 tires, as well as one set of intermediate tires in case of rain. Rookie drivers will receive 2025-spec tires: two sets each of C3 and C5, four sets of C4, and one set each of intermediate and full wet tires to be used in wet conditions.

With the massive 2026 overhaul looming, every lap on Tuesday will be precious. Expect Maranello to leave no stone unturned as Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton and Dino Beganovic rack up the kilometres that could shape Ferrari’s challenge next year.
